The HoM rewards cannot be traded. Sorry, but you can drop your plans to be a rich newbie.

I agree with you, it's not likely.

I'm over 30 points but it's given me motivation and direction also. For example, outside of my three Leg. Cartographers I'd never done Sahlahja for hero armor remnants. I only ever got one by chance while mapping with those three a long time ago. Last night I sat down with the intention of needing to do that repeatedly for a few hours. I did it one time and got 4 remnants! I only needed 3 since my Razah had Primeval. I wondered why I didn't do it earlier - outside of the pain it was to map. So anyway, just knowing there are some things I can finish up has gotten me into it a bit.

When it first came out, I was super excited to see what I have unlocked and still needed to unlock - to find out I was already at 30.
Was a little sad that I didn't need to work for anything since I've wanted a reason to get back into GW, but a few days later I decided that getting the titles are just as rewarding as the items. So now I'm working towards 50 (since I was working towards my gwamm anyways). So far I'm at 35. Getting to 40 will be easy, but beyond that is going to be were the real struggle comes in.
I need to get off my lazy but and finish cartography. I have no patience for it, and even prefered vanquishing to map scrapping .

Took 3 months off of the game, decided to load it up last night and was told about the calculator...46/50 needing like 22 minis and one oppressor weapon to max it out. Went through my mini storage and found 14 whites/purples that I hadn't dedicated. Now I need to buy up the rest of the 3rd/4th/5th year whites and fill it out, unless I can get 2nd and 3rd year purples at the same prices as 4th/5th year whites. Definitely not dedicating my celestials/yak/WiK golds or any other greens. when I'm done with work here and am back home with a fast connection, I'll finish up WiK for an oppressor weapon and sit pretty at 50/50.
Then I'll just work other characters through like I was before the break.

I'm 50/50 and GWAMM and I must admit there is nothing interesting more to do in GW for me anymore HoM calculator kinda killed the spirit.
I'm thinking of taking a break and returning for Crysis in Cantha

That's essentially what Anet wants to be the general practice - play until it stops being fun, then take a break

The items are useless too. My guess is that they'll be just the same as every other item of the same type in GW2, just a different skin. And since most GW2 players will be returning GW1 players, just about everyone's going to have the same junk anyway.

What are the titles that only require a level of 3 to enter into HoM? Are these the PvP ones?

Here is a link to the Monument of Honor page on the wiki. The title list indicates which ones do not need to be max. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/%22Honor%22

We all know that but it's not a problem, anymore than the titles now are used. Except for the ones tied to PvE skills or the EotN buffs, titles are useless except to bring back memories of working on them. I expect the HoM rewards to be the same. I'm sure we will all find armor/weapons/minis/pets that we like better, but we can always haul out the rewards to bring back our memories of GW.

Eric Flannum said that they didn't add more items, just the titles, so that players wouldn't feel pressured to max out the rewards to 50. I don't think I would have felt pressured. I think it would have given me a goal. Now, unless I want to go for GWAMM, I have nothing left to do in the game.

I am still having fun playing with my guild, helping my friends and maybe just maybe filling the HoM with more than I need (yep obsessive completist, but thats why I have 50/50 and GWAMM - I dont see the point in titles, I just like finishing what I can)
As has been said if GW isn't exciting atm and you are not obsessive, have a break, go play minecraft :P

yep i do hope that is some skin reward for 50/50. nothing flashy or "awesome" like the fiery glove, just something simple as a reward/souvenir for those that had 50/50

I think they left the last item at 30 so players wouldnt think they NEED to have 50/50 ....casual players will have a tough time getting 50/50 and new players as well. (just think of the cost of fow armor if you have a brand new account with no help from other accounts/storage)......so its to encourage people to get to 30 and still give something to those who have achieved more without making those who only got to 30 feel like the wasted their time ....that make sense???
and I still use some of the bonus items that we got from buying the ce editions and such...some of them are nice skins and when you are just starting out its nice to have one max weapon at least. So they might only be eye candy weapons, but YOU will know what YOU had to do to get them.

The HoM is supposed to be a way for anet to reward the gw1 players who supported there company over the years through the achievements they obtained, since when did it have to cater to all the people who quit and the new players.
Do you think there's not going to be casuals who don't make 30/50 and will cry about it, so what difference does it make if casuals miss out on 50/50?

This. Rewards favor the hard workers and those who put in the effort. If that's not your priority, then don't whinge about not getting the rewards. I don't whinge about not having a multi-billion dollar bank account just because others do...they put in the effort and made it happen. If I did the same, I'd be there myself.
Unfortunately, there will always be idiots out there who see people with the reward items/titles and launch into a fit of rage calling us no-lifers and losers, even if we don't use them to seem more important. I already get it from people when I run around with my GWAMM. "Oh, look at that loser with GWAMM....some of us have jobs that are more important." News flash numbnuts: I'm playing this from my job. Sorry for the rant.
